Panzi hospital is supported by two foundations : The Panzi Foundation in DRC and the Panzi Foundation in USA.

Panzi Foundation DRC, established in 2008 seeks to expand services to the wider population within South Kivu.

Panzi Foundation USA was established in 2010 by Dr Mukwege, Dr. Lee Ann De Reus and Peter Frantz. It aims to support the ongoing work of Panzi Hospital through a variety of initiatives. As a registered non profit in the United States, the organisation conducts fundrainsing campaigns and works alongside Panzi Hospital in a number of projects.

The Panzi Foundation aim to:

  • Promote basic quality health care for marginalized populations
  • Improve access to quality maternal and reproductive health
  • Promote and encourage the application of women’s rights and gender equality
  • Prevent violence against women and children
  • Support survivors of rape and sexual violence to rebuild their lives and those of their communities, and
  • In through the Badilika Advocacy Project, promote a peaceful and accountable State  to ensure human rights in general and good governance are the pillars of human development in DR Congo.
